NCA Eagles

NCA students have many opportunities to develop their athletic abilities. In addition to Physical Education classes at all levels, students have the option of participating in a number of organized team sports.

Soccer

The high school varsity boys' and girls' soccer teams play during the first semester. Home games are played on our own regulation-sized grass field, and away games are played at other schools. The teams also play in a number of invitational tournaments throughout the year.

In addition to varsity soccer, elementary students in first through sixth grade (both boys and girls) have opportunities to play soccer during the second semester. We have regular practices and scheduled games with similar-aged teams from other schools.

Basketball

High school basketball teams compete during the second semester. Our high school men's varsity basketball team had an undefeated 17-0 season in 2011 and won two separate tournaments against other schools in Managua.

In addition to varsity basketball, elementary students in fourth through sixth grade (both boys and girls) have opportunities to play basketball during the first semester. We have a short season including both regular practices and scheduled games with other schools.

Volleyball

High school girls may participate in an after-school volleyball program during both semesters. Players practice regularly on one of two regulation volleyball courts to develop their skills and improve their teamwork. The teams play games against other nearby schools and participate in tournaments.

Coaches

All athletic teams are coached by dedicated teachers, parents, and friends of the school who have knowledge and experience in their sport. The athletic department is headed up by Karel Norman, who is the Athletic Director and High School physical education teacher. The soccer program is supervised by elementary physical education teacher, Edgard Fajardo. Seņor Fajardo is an experienced coach of many years and has been involved with Nicaragua National occer Teams, an organization of athletic teams across the country.
